Mattarella: “The life of our country intertwined with the European Union”

"The life of our country is now closely intertwined in every respect with that of the EU". This was stated by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella in the meeting with the Italian delegation at the Permanent Representation to the EU.

"Your role here - adds the head of state - both as representatives of the various articulations of our country, and as European citizens, is extremely precious. This interconnection is growing year after year, and consequently the commitment of Italians on mission in this extraordinary adventure of integration that we are continuing to live is also growing".

In Brussels, the President also met with the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Raffaele Fitto and the President of the European Council Antonio Costa .
